Merritt College COVID-19 Update

Good evening, Merritt College Community:

I am writing to inform you that this morning one of our colleagues reported to a member of the college leadership team that they had tested positive for COVID-19. They stated that they had taken a COVID-19 test on Friday, January 14th, but did not receive the results until this morning. Our colleague is now at home and quarantining, but they were here on campus on Tuesday, January 18th and Wednesday, January 19th. While privacy guidelines preclude me from providing you with any identifying information, please know that I have apprised the PCCD Office of Human Resources Office of the positive test result so that the information can be shared with the Alameda County Public Health Department and Cal/OSHA. I have also notified those individuals with whom this person was in contact.

In compliance with our district guidelines, I will continue to report COVID-19 cases to you in our ongoing efforts to keep everyone safe and informed. I would also encourage you to visit https://safe.peralta.edu/ for the most up-to-date information and resources for students, faculty/staff, and the community.

Take care and be safe.
